When I read chilled pasta, it felt like an oxymoron, but O M G. It was so stinkin good. I feel like I describe every recipe we do that way, but I just cant help it, the girls are picking recipes that make my tummy and tastebuds so happy. Paige and I are both seafood lovers, so this perked our interest. When she showed me the recipe I got excited. It was better than I imaged. A friend of mine was over and my hubby worked late, so she sat in and was blown away.

We used our favorite pickle chips in this salad. Pickles in salad?!?!? Yes and it was amazing!! Adds a nice zingy taste, with the Italian dressing. Our herbs scissors made chopping up the basil so easy. And this colander, well I don't have it, but I wish i did. It's so cute and you do need one for this recipe.

She was also so surprised at how capable Paige has gotten in the kitchen. She loves that I'm teaching my girls to cook. And not just basic stuff. All kinds of recipes, all kinds of techniques and I'm not afraid to teach myself in the process. Letting the girls pick the recipes really impressed her too. Our meal planning has differently widen. We are a family that will eat just about anything. I mean we all have things that aren't our favorites but we are scared to try. Except Paisley but she's only 10.

Lately, I have been on a mission to find salad that isn't ordinary. This was perfect. The meat and cheese. The dressing. We also added the air fryer Italian croutons we make. It was so good, if the main course wasn't amazing also I would have just eaten a big bowl of salad. I was able to find a value pack on deli meat, with salami, prosciutto and coppa and it was the perfect combination.

Maybe it goes without saying but a lettuce spinner was much needed. This has a fantastic dressing on it and you don't want it watered down. Speaking of dressing, I used these awesome juicing bottles, (I normally use for my morning drink) to mix up the dressing. Do you like our fancy salad servers???

Paige is pretty good and cutting up everything for salads. I can only hope that other parents are inspired to let their kids help in the kitchen more. We've only been doing the whole YouTube thing a few months and both girls have become quite capable. My son is 21 and he can cook as well. I made a cookbook for him when he was a teen. I wanted him to to know his way around the kitchen when he didn't have me.
