What food were the kids cooking up this episode???
I love brownies and Paisley loves Oreo's so when she found these brownies by Crazy For Crust, I couldn't say no. In fact, she has so many yummy recipes I will be going back. There was a little more to these brownies than I'm used to. When I say a little, I mean a lot. I also just usually buy a box for $5 and call it a day. This dessert cost the same as dinner for a family but well worth it. These hit top rank in the brownie department. So rich! Threw me off because you chill them. I had never had cold brownies and it just felt... wrong. But the only thing wrong was my thinking.
They absolutely need to be chilled just to get the marshmallow crème frosting to stay on. She even say's leave them out over night before putting it on. But we off course didn't have time for that during filming. I just took the brownies out of the pan and put them into the freezer pronto. Put the frosting in the fridge as well before adding in to the brownies and it still wanted to slide off. If you want to impress your friends, this will do the trick. Be sure to dish out small pieces and a glass of milk. Like I said they are rich so a little goes a long way.
Paisley was over the moon with these brownies. She also learned the vanilla extract doesn't taste great by itself. I learned that sifting flour is extremely time consuming but I see why it's necessary. It keeps clumping from happening. We got a KitchenAid hand mixer and I don't know how I did without it. Seriously awesome. It has rubber covers on the beaters. Is really nice.
